Our Customers' Trichotillomania Journey

What’s been truly amazing to hear is that some of our customers have been using our serums to target the side effects of trichotillomania with some incredible results. They’ve kindly shared their stories with us, and given us permission to share them with you!
This week’s Glow Goss is about raising awareness about trichotillomania and how to treat some of the long-term side effects that come with this.

What Is Trichotillomania?
Trichotillomania is a compulsive desire to pull your hair out. This results in repeatedly pulling hair out, usually from the scalp. However, eyebrows, eyelashes and other body areas are also sites where hair pulling can occur.
A cause of trichotillomania is stress and anxiety, as pulling hair out becomes a way to deal with these emotions. There may be a feeling of increased tension before pulling the hair out or when resisting this action. This is then followed by a sense of relief or pleasure when the hair pulling is fulfilled.
It can be difficult for people with trichotillomania to resist pulling their hair out. This can then result in bald patches in the area where the hair has been pulled from (such as the eyelashes or eyebrows). In turn, this can lead to feelings of self-consciousness and low self-esteem.

Annie’s Story: “I wish I’d found your serum sooner!”
After using our Lash Growth Serum for 8 weeks, Annie decided to get in touch to let us know how well the product has worked for her.
Annie has suffered from trichotillomania for years. She told us that she had tried many other lash serums in the past to combat it but nothing ever worked for her. She then found our Lash Growth Serum on TikTok (@glowforitshop).
Although Annie saw all our amazing reviews, she admitted she was a little sceptical at first as she had tried many serums before and had been repeatedly disappointed.

Just take a look at these before and after pictures that Annie sent us. The first picture is how her lashes looked back in mid-December. The second shows what her lashes look like today!
Annie mentioned that she gets lots of compliments on her eyelashes now, and we can definitely see why.
